Rich Whitley

Rich Whitley’s experience as a Government executive included confronting and resolving complex public issues in natural resource and energy development while working with diverse public and private sector interests. For six years as Associate State Director of New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, Rich developed the organization and its workforce to implement strategic direction for managing 39 million combined acres of public lands and public mineral estate. His strengths include developing Executive Management Teams in collaborative problem solving, conflict management, decision-making, strategic planning, organizational development, and consensus building. Rich’s executive experience, leadership, training, and coaching styles have earned him a reputation as an excellent mentor. He has trained leagues of future Government supervisors and managers in multiple formats: workshop, one-on-one, conference, and on-the-job. He continues to formally mentor or coach emerging and executive leaders as he did throughout his Federal Career. As Adjunct Professor, Southern Oregon University, School of Business, Rich will provide direct leadership development education to working managers and graduate students.

Rich believes in active community involvement and volunteerism. He co-founded the Ashland Community Dialogue, is an active board member of the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, and serves on the Ashland School District Budget Committee. Rich assists the Ashland School District and local non profits in their strategic plan development plans.
